The Oxford University Society, South Australia is pleased to announce that Justice Samuel Doyle will deliver the 2022 Oxford Lecture!
Justice Doyle graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from Adelaide University and a Bachelor of Civil Law from Oxford University. He was appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court of South Australia in December 2015 and has spent the last six years hearing matters in both the civil and criminal jurisdictions of the Court, regularly sitting as member of the Full Court of the Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal. In December 2020 Justice Doyle was appointed a Justice of the Court of Appeal.
For the Oxford Lecture, Justice Doyle poses the question, “Sentencing – are judges soft on crime?”. This will undoubtedly be an engaging lecture, so please book early as there are only 82 seats available at the venue!
